We returned to England with ideas, aspirations and a HOPE that we never had before. Cuba has highlighted so many beautiful things for me in the world of children with disabilities. They are not only very special, but very blessed and they have an inner strength that is so amazing and inspiring. The Cuban people we met had such respect for children with special needs; they saw them as blessings, not burdens, and treated them like royalty, just as every child should be treated, regardless of their ability.I have brought back so much from Cuba, both spiritually & mentally, but most of all I have this message:To all those families with children whose life has been affected by a disability of any kind, and who feel there is no hope, please don’t give up on your children. They can reach their full potential, and they will with your support. They have the chance of an improved life, so never give up, always have hope and do whatever it takes to give your child the chance to achieve to the best of their ability.
