Happy New Year to All From The Kye Kye HOPE Trust
2009 a new year and a new chapter, we take the time to remember those who have crossed our paths and who have made lasting impressions in our lives. A big thank you and best wishes for the New Year to all who have supported the Trust, and who continue to do so. We hope and pray that the future for the Trust is as successful and healthy as it has been in the past, and that our support network will go on from strength to strength which will in turn enable us to allow Kye Kye the benefit of a better quality of life.
Here is a brief update on all that has occurred (for more info please see our Events page):
September 2008 - A New School Record!!
Kye made a real break through this term at school, apart from remaining exceptionally well, she managed to attend school for the best part of the term, joining activities with school friends and taking part in not only the making of a short film in conjunction with fellow students at Oakleigh School, which a premier screening (a real red carpet event) at the Brixton Ritzy but she also won an Award for her participation and an award for best dress (see picture gallery). It was a fantastic day and we all were so proud of her and her fellow school mates - Well Done Kye Kye , well Done Oakleigh.
August 2008 - Sensory Unit Arrives
Finally, all our hard work has paid off, a very big thank you to all the supporters, contributions, time and dedication put in to help achieve our goal. In August 2008 all monies were secured and we were able to present Kye Kye with her sensory unit (see picture gallery). Much appreciation and heart felt thanks to all who gave time and effort, in making this dream come true. Kye Kye now enjoys most evenings before bedtime listening to soft relaxing music whilst having her feet and hands massaged while she relaxes in her unit. The unit settles Kye Kye and we all notice a marked difference in how relaxed she is. You can see Kye enjoying her Sensory unit in the picture gallery. Once again A big thank you to all who contributed in making this dream come true.
November 2007 - Kye Kye's Riding machine
A special machine ordered from Canada was purchased for Kye to help reduce the risk of seizures and high toned spasms, this machine has been instrumental in reducing seizures and spasms around her hips and knees a big thank you to all those whose kind contributions made this possible.

Kye Kye's Garden
In August 2007, it was agreed to use funding to create a special garden for Kye Kye to enjoy throughout all seasons. This garden would be a dream come true for mum Denise as she has always wanted a garden that Kye Kye could enjoy while maintaining her own protective atmosphere. Kye kye is practically house-bound during the winter months so having her own garden gives her access to the outdoors where she can enjoy the fresh air without being at risk of infection.
The project was led by Paul and Daniel Baines and other members of their family; their time, efforts and labour were given voluntarily. The support, dedication and kindness resulted in our dream garden for Kye Kye. Since the completion of the garden project, Kye has been able to enjoy the pleasant fragrancel of barbecues and the pleasure of relaxing on her porch. This kind gesture has allowed Kye to have better quality of life. A big thank-you to Paul Baines and his family for their hard work, time and dedication in making this garden a reality. A big thanks to Linda Baines for her support and keeping the guys on track and a special thank you to our boy Jake who kept Kye Kye occupied whist she waited on her dream garden to become a reality.
